The Committee of London Wool Brokers today announced the formation of London Wool Brokers (Holdings), Limited, a private company which is to acquire the greater part of the committee's business from January 1, 1959. It has an authorised capital of £175,00, of which £lOO,OOO will be issued initially. At the .same time, a second private company has been formed under the name of The London Wool Brokers, Limited, which will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of business, including the London wool auctions. Formation of the two English companies completes the process of reorganisation of the committee’s business begun by the formation in 1958 of a private company. London Wool Brokers' (Australia) Proprietary, Limited, to take over the committee’s interests in Australia. A similar private limited company, London Wool Brokers' (New Zealand), Limited, was formed in New Zealand in the last six months. SMITHFIELD MARKET Prices Again Easier Prices for New Zealand mutton and lamb fell again last week at Smithfield, according to the latest report received from the Imported Meat Trade Association. The lightest grade of New Zealand crossbred wethers and maiden ewes was not quoted, but the three heavier grades all showed falls in price, with quotations falling Id or id per lb. Ewe mutton from the Dominion was also easier, with falls between id and id per lb in the three lightest weights, with the heaviest weight in this type. 65721 b, again not quoted. Canterbury lamb showed similar falls, id per lb in first quality and Jd per-, lb in second quality meat. Frozen and chilled beef from the Dominion were again not quoted.
