COMMERCIAL Prices Steady On Quiet Market
The Christchurch Stock Exchange was quiet yesterday, with fewer than 4500 shares changing hands. The sales list was longer than usual, but most transactions were in small parcels. Prices were mainly steady.
. Bank of New South Wales rights maintained their recent rises with a sale of 5 at £l2 ss, an mcrease of 3s. Dominion Builders were also firmer. The only stock to ease was Reid Murray Holdings, at Ils sd, with a further parcel of the same stock selling unchanged at Ils 6d. . , New Zealand Breweries (six parcels totalling 611 shares), Timaru Woollen rights, Cox Brothers rights and Balhns Breweries were unchanged.
