N.Z. GIFTS TO C.O.R.S.O.
Total £4.5m In 14| Years (New Zealand Press Association) | WELLINGTON, Nov. 18. The New Zealand Council of' Organisations for Relief Service Overseas has collected nearly £4.5 million in cash and goods: during its 14 years and a half of operation. This figure was announced at the annual meeting of C.0.R.5.0. j today. It was reported that] C.0.R.5.0. had contributed i during the last 12 months to re-; lief work in 28 countries. C.0.R.5.0.’s programme had been three-fold—to help the! United Nations High Commis-I sioner for Refugees in the general: “close the camps” drive, to help! the people of less developed 1 countries as a matter of goodwill.! and to lend assistance to victims of national disasters. In New Zealand, the 1958 , money appeal revenue had 1 reached £65.000 and gifts in kind: about £650.000 making a total of] cash and goods of about £715,000. | Administrative expenses were! about 3 per cent., excluding: freight and packing. The Rev. J. Gilman Dunn was. confirmed as chairman of the council. The vice-chairman. Mr C. S. Falconer, and the treasurer. Mr Colin W. Morrison, were reelected.
