(Special Correspondent N.Z.P.A.) LONDON, November 18. Lord Mancroft, who resigned his post as Minister without portfolio in September because he said he could not afford to live on a salary of £3750 a year, has been appointed director of Great Universal Stores. Last year six directors of the stores (a £l5O million group) shared total emoluments of £65,500 —an average of about £ll,OOO each. Lord Mancroft is married with five children. The “Yorkshire Post” says he is the fourth promising young Minister to leave the Government for financial reasons in the last two years.
