ATIAMURI DAM
Filling To Start Today (New Zealand Press Association) WHANGAREI. Nov. 12. The Minister of Works (Mr Watt) announced tonight that the filling of the Atiamuri hydroelectric dam would be started at 5 p.m. tomorrow. It was hoped that the lake would be threequarters full b/ 5 p.m. on Friday. Mr Watt said he hoped to be at Atiamuri on Saturday night to turn on the first generator. He would be pleased if 60.000 kilowatts could be produced from the station.
The project is six months ahead of schedule.
