FUEL FOR BUSES IN AUCKLAND
Identical Tenders By Oil Companies (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 12. Six oil companies in New Zealand have all tendered the same price for the supply of both petrol and diesel fuel to the Auckland Transport Board. The prices reported to the board this afternoon were 3s 10? d a gallon for petrol and Is 6d a gallon for diesel fuel. The board’s estimated requirements for next year are 148.000 gallons of petrol and 500.000 gallons of diesel fuel valued at £66,329. The chief engineer (Mr J. W. F. Welch) recommended that the board refer the matter of identical tenders to the Public Passenger Transport Association for such action as was considered necessary.
