SMITHFIELD MARKET
Mutton, Lamb Easier I New Zealand ewe mutton was uniformly cheaper on the Smithfield meat market last week, according to the latest report received from the Imported Meat Trade Association. Crossbred wethers and maiden ewes eased from Jd per lb to i'd per lb in all weights. Ewe mutton from the Dominion varied from steady lo Ad per lb cheaper. Canterbury lamb was steady to easier, with lighter weights of first quality meat unchanged. Second quality and the heaviest grade of first quality were jd per lb cheaper. New Zealand frozen beef and chilled beef were again not quoted. Prices for New Zealand meat exhooks.
