Results of yesterdays polling, announced today, were: Mr Leo Abse, Labour. 20.000 votes; Mr Paul Selwyn Thomas, Conservative. 6273 votes; Mr Benjamin Morgan, Welsh Nationalist. 2927 votes. Labour majority. 13.727 votes. At the 1955 general election, the Labour majority was 16.572 in a straight fight with Conservatives.
