CURIOUS FIRE IN PARK
Garden Seat, Saw Horse On Tree Called to a fire in St. Albans Park at 11.16 p.m. yesterday, a unit from the St. Albans Fire Brigade Station was soon on the scene. On top of a small tree was a garden seat and saw horse —all blazing merrily. The fire was soon extinguished, but not before damage had been done. A series of alarm calls received between midnight and 1 a.m. all proved to be false. The calls originated in the St. Albans and Sumner areas. Slight damage was done to a power-cycle owned by Barry Meyer, of 25 Dallington terrace, when it caught fire at 10.34 pm. A unit from the Central Fire Station soon extinguished the blaze.
