FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT

Situation: A depression is moving off New Zealand to the east and an anti-cyclone is advancing over the Tasman Sea. Forecast:— West Coast: Moderate to fresh south-west winds. Changeable, with passing showers, chiefly in the north, and- fair intervals. Temperatures moderate. Outlook: fair. Nelson and Marlborough: Moderate to fresh south-west winds developing. Weather mainly fair, but showers developing in coastal Marlborough and in the western ranges. Temperatures, becoming cooler. Outlook: fair. Canterbury: Moderate to fresh south-westerlies gradually prevailing. Weather cloudy, with occasional rain, chiefly in coastal South Canterbury. Temperatures cool. Outlook: fair.
