Woman Injured In Capsize Of Car
After a car in which two adults and two children were travelling overturned in shingle about two miles south' of Chertsey at 6.45 p.m. yesterday, a woman was ad-i mitted tew the Ashburton Public Hospital with injuries. She is Mrs G. W. Dunkley, of 80 Leaver terrace, New Brighton, Christchurch. Her condition is reported to be satisfactory.
At the time of the accident the car, which was driven by her husband. Mr G. W. Dunkley, was travelling north on the Main South road.
MINOR FIRES
A dividing fence at 28 Manor place was damaged by fire yesterday morning. It was extinguished by a unit from the St. Albans brigade which answered a call received at 11.50 a.m. Units from the Central and New Brighton brigades put out a scrub fire at 120 Wairoa street at 11 a.m. There was no damage. A St. Albans unit attended a fire at the Marshland road pit at 12.20 p.m. There w r as no damage. A small grass fire on the side of the Port Hills road was extinguished by units from the Central and .Woolston brigades.
