Railways More “Diesel-Minded”
(New Zeaiana Press Association) AUCKLAND, October 27. Australian and New Zealand railway officials were becoming more and more “diesel engineminded,” said Mr F. R. Murray, transportation superintendent for the New Zealand Railways, He had just returned from a conference in Sydney. “Both countries will eventually be equipped completely with diesel engines,” he said. Signal methods occupied a large space on the conference agenda. “In this field,” said Mr Murray, “New Zealand is well ahead. Signalling systems in this country are some of the most modern in use.”
