Highweight At Rangiora Brlday Bay wore down Royal Avon about 100 yards from the *’ finish in the W. Parsons Mentor, r’ lai Hlgh-weight Handicap at Rangiora yesterday, and in a stirring finish beat Native Klnr by a head. Bridal Bay followed Hunted, Hope, ful and Royal Avon into the straight mastered Royal Avon with ease, but ' had to work hard to hold Native King, which came strongly from th» middle of the field. Royal Avon worked past Hunted just inside the furlong but did not ' show much fight when challenged He was a comfortable third a length ’’ behind Native King and a length and a half in front of Hunted.
