Queensland was today forced to follow on in the third day’s play of the Sheffield Shield cricket match against New South Wales. QuenSland scored 233 in its first innings, in reply to the New South Wales’ score of 500. At stumps, Queensland had scored six without loss in its second innings. Queensland batsmen today collapsed after P. Burge (74) and W. Grout (83) had both played fine innings. The best bowling performances for New South Wales were R. Benaud’s three for 78 and A. Wyatt’s two for 18.
