Launch Destroyed By Fire
(New Zeatana Press Association/ AUCKLAND, October 27. A 22-foot launch, the Lady Jane, was burnt out and sank in the Tamaki estuary about 7.30 p.m. after an explosion. Three men on board, including the owner, Mr E. T. Jackson, of Mount Eden, escaped by dinghy The men had been out during the afternoon testing the engine in the launch, which was fairly new. Later, when they again started the engine, there was an explosion, and within seconds the launch was burning from end to end.
