Fire Brigade Spent Social Funds
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND. Sept. 25. The Whitianga Volunteer Fire Brigade yesterday spent the £375 Ifls in its social funds, which had taken five years to accumulate, arid’ bought a fire appliance. The brigade’s tender for -the equipment offered by the Auckland Metropolitan Fire Board was accepted, although it was lower than another tender received. The brigade had explained by letter that it had no other finance at its disposal and sought favour- i able consideration. The board voted unanimously in favour of Whitianga’s tender.
