SPEED LIMIT FOR MEDICAL CASES

Council Opposes Change

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. Sept. 25. The breaking of speed limits in the name of urgent medica’ need was often unnecessary and dangerous. the Road Safety Council was told today by its representative from the medical profession. Dr. M. Kronfeld. Dr. Kronfeld said the danger might apply, in some instances to the person in need of medical attention. He was speaking during a discussion on a proposal by Mr B. H. Paton (Association of New Zealand Car Clubs') .to exempt motorists from sneed limits in emergency medical cases.

The meeting approved the recommendation of the enforcement sub-committee, that n< action be taken.

Hospital Conference.—Dr. L. C. L. Averill. Messrs L. Christie. H T. Ayers, V. J. Corbett, and E. P Shier and Mrs J. E. Mackay have been appointed delegates of the North Canterbury Hospital Board to the annual conference of the Hospital Boards’ Association in Napier next April.
