Titoki To Run From Onehunga "The Press" gpeciat Service AUCKLAND, September 28. For the first time in more than 20 years a coaster sailed from the Port of Onehunga With general cargo for the West Coast of the South Island. Inaugurating the service was the Anchor Shipping and Foundry Company's new collier, Titoki, which arrived at Greymouth on Tuesday. The Titoki will make a regular monthly run from Onehunga to Greymouth and Westport with general cargo. The Titoki win take about 26 hourr frora Onehunga to West* port, Compared with two and a half days for ships sailing from Auckland. The quicker passage is expected to encourage trade. The 855-ton ship was built at Smith and Zoon’s yard, Westerbroek, the Netherlands, and arrived in New Zealand in late May. She is a sister-ship to the Anchor Shipping and Foundry Company's Aotara. The craft is the second of the company to bear the name Titoki. The present ship’s captain, Mr H. J. Boyer, had command of the old Titoki for two and a half years, until June, 1957. Between her monthly general cargo trips the coaster wlu esrry coal and timber from the West Coast to such ports as Wsnganui, New Plymouth and Picton.
