CHILDREN'S BOOKS
Ten Favouries In Poll During the recent exhibition of books for Children’s Book Week, visitors were invited to select from the 100 books of the "Sundays Times” surey, the 10 best children’s books. Almost all those submitting lists were children and the older classics are still very popular with them. The books selected in order of popularity, were: “Black Beauty,” “Heidi,” "Lassie Come Home,” “Wind in the Willows,” “Treasure Island,” “Robinson Crusoe,” “Robin Hood,” “Little Women,” “Peter Pan,’’ and “Tom Sawyer.” Prize-winners in the competition were: B. Butler 1, Shirlene Marchant 2. Consolation prizes were awarded to Dawn Wellbourn, Marlene Washboure, Merilyn Jarman, Morwyn Northcoat, and Judith Fleming. '
