CONSTRUCTION OF TOURIST HOTEL

“Budget Not Helpful To Undertaking” (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, September 25.

Development, Ltd., Auckland, is delaying its move to have an international standards hotel at Bastion Point, Auckland, until conditions are more favourable.

Mr H. J. Kelliher, managing director of Dominion Breweries, Ltd., one of the sponsors, said today that the proposal has always been dependent on a change of mind by the Government to allow the hotel to operate under competitive conditions, as applied in similar hotels overseas. “The very severe provisions in the Budget are not helpful to the establishment of any major undertaking in New Zealand at the present time,’* he said.
