Anderton On Favourite (“The Press' Special Service; DUNEDIN, Sept. 24. The Wingatui apprentice, H. T. Anderton, will ride Willie Wolseley, one of the early favourites for the Grandstand Handicap, the first leg of the double at the Dunedin Jockey Club’s meeting on Saturday. Anderton rode Peril in the corresponding event last week, and Willie Wolseley in his unlucky second in the Geraldine Cup on MonThe Riccarton jockey, G. W. Mein, will ride Peril on Saturday. R. J. Skelton will ride Blonde Sprite in the Dunedin Guineas. The Resurgent filly was ridden by L. W. Hare in her winning bid in the Telegraph Handicap on Saturday, but Hare will be on Airephelia, on which he was third in the John Grigg Stakes. A. J. Stokes will ride the Guineas favourite, Braganza, and W. D. Skelton will be on Matlock.

The trainer, D. P. Wilson, said that only one of his entries in the Milburn Hack Handicap would run. If the track remains firm, Kelton will start. Sparkler will need an easing in the going before he fulfils his engagement. The stable apprentice, R. Pledger, will ride whichever horse starts. Riding engagements include: — B. P.
