SOVIET VIEW OF CHINA CRISIS
“Not Too Late Yet” For Solution (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) (Rec. 10 p.m.) LONDON, September 24. Moscow Radio said today it was “not too late yet” to prevent a world catastrophe, but negotiations, meetings and exchanges of messages were needed. President Eisenhower’s action in returning Mr Khrushchev’s letter on the Far East crisis was “a step in the opposite direction,” the Moscow Radio said. “Every effort must be made to prevent a world catastrophe before it is too late,” the radio said. “It is not too late yet.
“It will require negotiations, meetings and exchanges of messages. Each side will have to go ahead one step at a time.”
