Soccer INTERNATIONAL TOURNEY
Games To Be Played In Evening
Arrangements for the International Soccer tournament were completed at last night’s meeting of the Canterbury management committee of the Football Association. The first round will be played at Hagley Park on Wednesday, October 1, at 5.15 p.m., with England v. Holland and New Zealand v. Scotland Winners of these games will meet ip the final at English Park the next Saturday, for the L. A. Goldsmith trophy. The losers will play the curtain-raiser.
The following teams have been selected:—
Holland.—J. Voogt; C. van der Spek, B. Roskam; J. Schaffer (vicecaptain). C. van Orsouw, E. Tooth; A. Gardenbroek, A. van Royen, J Smit, .R. Campens (captain), P Nota. Reserves: J. Roborg, J. van der Griend.
Scotland.—J. Donnelly; A. Juner W. Rodger; A. Condie, J. Hegarty (vice-captain), I. Drewitt (captain): A. Trotter, W. Shannon, T. Munro. G. McLaren, J. McGrath. Reserves D. Finnet, I. McCallum.
England.—M. Henderson; J. Wooders, W. Charlton; R. Durant (captain), M. Wild, R. Herbert; D. Schofield, E. Charlton, C. Whitehead, D Charlton, D. Worthington (vice-cap tain). Reserves: J. Hinchley, J Bentley. J. Moore. New Zealand.—The New Zealanc team will be the same as chosen for the New Zealand v. Overseas match next Saturday.
