LONDON WOOL SALES

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, September 23. The New Zealand Wool Board and the New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board received cabled advice from the London agency of the New Zealand Wool Commission that at the London auction sales held from September 8 to 19 a total of 16,543 bales of slipe wool were offered. Compared with closing rates of the series of sales July 14 to 18, 1958, lambs’ slipes 56’s and finer were fully par, others 2J per cent to 5 per cent cheaper, except all seconds (sheep and lambs).Thirds (sheep and lambs) were in sellers’ favour. Sheep slipes were 5 per cent, to 7J per cent, cheaper. Halfbreds were almost unrepresented.
