STOCK SALE AT TEMUKA

Seventy head of fat cattle of mixed quality were offered at yesterday’s Temuka sale, and high values were maintained throughout. A small offering of store cattle of poor quality also sold surprisingly well at late rates. '

There was another large yarding of fat sheep which included numerous pens Of good quality. The number proved too large for local consumption, and values eased slightly towaids the end of the sale. There was a small yarding of store sheep, mostly of tail-end lots, and there was little change on late rates. A large yarding of pigs and weaners were hard to dispose of later on in the sale. Fat Cattle—Fat steers: good, £47 to £56 2s 6d; medium, £4O to £46 17s 6d; light, £34 12s 6d to £39 17s 6d. Fat heifers: good, £3B to £4l 2s 6d; medium, £34 to £37 17s Cd; light, £2B 2s 6d to £33 17s 6d. Fat cows: good, £36 to £47 2s 6d; medium, £3O to £35 17s 6d; light, £l2 17s 6d to £27.

Dairy Cattle.—Springing cows: £l5 to £3l.

Fat Sheep.—Fat wethers (woolly): good, 68s to 735; medium, 63s to 67s lOd; light, 50s to 60s. Fat wethers (shorn), 42s 6d to 60s. Fat ewes (woolly): good, 44s to 48s Id; medium, 40s to 43s lOd; light, 35s to 395. Fat ewes (shorn), 20s to 29s Id. Store sheep, two-tooth ewes (shorn), to 31s; ewe hoggets (woolly) medium, to 51s; ewes in lamb, W 41s; wether hoggets (woolly), to 40s.
