Plans For Ocean Yacht Race

(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, Sept. 23. The Royal Akarana Yacht Club (Auckland) may hold a long ocean race this season, either to Australia or Fiji.

Recently the club was approached by the Queensland Cruising Yacht Club, asking if it could organise an ocean race to Brisbane to coincide with the Queensland centennial celebrations at Easter next year. The Royal Akarana Club has asked for more details of the proposed race. When this information is received, the club will decide whether the Australian race is practicable, or a Suva race could be held as an alternative.
