The hall, given by Sir John McKenzie and Lady McKenzie in memory of their son, who failed to return on a flight from the Royal New Zealand Air Force Station, Wigram, during the war, has been situated in Epsom road and used by Sockburn Methodists of the Riccarton circuit. Transferred to a more residential area, it will be rebuilt and enlarged as the first stage of the new Sockburn Methodist Church.
