Australia’s “Long Tom” Rocket
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) CANBERRA, Sept. 19. The Minister of Shpply (Mr Athol Townley) said last night that Australia’s two-stage rocket was fired only 10 weeks after the decision to make it. The rocket, named Long Tom. was first fired last year, and there .have been five firings since. The rocket, able to reach a height of 120 miles and carry a 101 b payload, was adapted from four standard British rockets.
