N.Z. DELEGATION TO S.E.A.T.O.
General Weir As Leader (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 11. The Chief of the General Staff (Major-General C. E. Weir) is to lead the New Zealand delegation to a S.E.A.T.O. military advisers’ conference in Bangkok next week. The Minister of Defence (Mr Connolly) said today that the delegation would leave Auckland on Friday. I From Bangkok, General Weir 1 will go to Pearl Harbour for a meeting of A.N.Z.U.S. powers’ [military representatives, and later I will attend, as the Government’s military adviser, a meeting of the A.N.Z.U.S. council in Washington.
