Beer Prices
Sir, —Reading in “The Press” recently about present prices and measures for liquor reminded me of an old rhyme I read of which could have been written in a town like Hokitika when Crowe’s, Royal, and Vincent's breweries were contributing to the output and intake- before tied houses and brewery mergers. This is it: Come where the booze is cheaper. Come where the pots hold more. Come where the boss is a bit of a joss, .Come to .the pub next door. . —Yours, etc., R.H.J. September 4, 1958.
