Marriage Guidance Council
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, August 31.
An executive committee of theNational Marriage Guidance Council will be set up in Auckland shortly. The committee of five will set standards on a national scale for the selection and training of marriage counsellors and Will formulate a training programme. Other functions of the committee will inHude administration of the national council and co-operation with other bodies interested in marriage guidance, particularly the Justice Department.
Recommendations to this effect were made, on Saturday during a three-day conference in Auckland on marriage guidance counselling attended by representatives from Whangarei to Christchurch.
