Health Camps
Sir, —In reply to “Gran’s,” query about sending of her little grandson to a health camp. A few years ago my son of five was sent to one of these camps, and I was very pleased afterwards that we. had let him go, for it was clear what the camp had done. The kind treatment of the matron and helpers, company his own age, and the change in surroundings and environment seemed to change him from a nervy child to a more placid and self-assured ; boy. “Gran’s” daughter would see the benefit if she faces the little heart-aches for the short time her son would be away. It would give her son the chance of knowing others and help him to develop. The father, too, might have time to do a little serious thinking. I can recommend the change for you all. I do not tfhink you will be sorry.—Yours, etc., ANOTHER MOTHER. August 29, 1958.
