(New Zealand Press Association) TIMARU, August 31. Southland, playing its first match in a short South Island tour, won, 9-6, against South Canterbury in a representative Rugby match at Fraser Park. Timaru. yesterday. Each side scored two tries. Playing with a following high north-westei ly wind. Southland led 3-0 at half-time, and up to that ■stage the South Canterbury defence hard to oenetrate. Southand moie was al * than South home team’s excellent.
