Auckland Beats Northland
(New Zealand Press Association) WHANGAREI, August 31. Auckland beat Northland 24-20 in an exciting Rugby match at Whangarei yesterday. The Auckland backs were brilliant at times. , • The decisive factor was two quick tries by Auckland about half-way through the second half, when A. Clarke and L. Russell scored within three minutes of each other. From then. Auckland held the upper hand. Auckland scorers were: L. Rundell (two tries), F. McMullen (two tries). A. Clarke (one). W. A. Davis kicked a penalty goal and converted three tries. For Northland C. Cunninga scored two tries, M. Walters and P. F. Jones scored tries, and E. Dean kicked two .penalty goals and converted one Beats
