Strydom Burned In Pretoria
PRETORIA, August 29. Thousands of people crowded into Pretoria today, from all parts of South Africa, for the state funeral of Mr Johannes Strydom. Mr Strydom, South Africa’s fifth Prime Minister, died in Cape Town on Sunday, The Minister of Native Affairs (Dr. Hendrik Verwoerd), who has been mentioned as the next Prime Minister, addressed a big crowd which attended a memorial service at Nylstroom yesterday, in the heart of Mr Strydom’s constituency.
