ARMS SMUGGLING TRIAL IN JORDAN.—Twelve Jordanians and one Syrian were last week sentenced to death by a Military Court in Amman for smuggling arms and ammunition into Jordan from Syria. This photograph shows some of the accused in the courtroom just before sentence was passed. The men were captured in a pitched battle with Jordanian troops. The man with his arm in a sling had his right hand shot off during the fight.
