MURDER CHARGE REJECTED
Nathan Guilty Of Manslaughter (New Zealand Press Association) WANGANUI, August 21. After a retirement of little more than an hour, a jury in the Supreme Court at Wanganui today found Ronald Ihaia Nathan, aged 30, not guilty of murder, but guilty of Nathan was charged with the murder of his wife, Ripeka Nathan, at Pipiriki, on June 1. He was remanded until next week for sentence. No evidence was called for the defence. Mr N. R. Bain, and with him Mr F. J. Connell, conducted the case for the Crown, and Mr J. B. O’Regan (Wellington) appeared for Nathan.
Mr Justice Haslam excused members of the jury from further service for three years.
