EARLY CARROTS..
Carrots are one crop which most home gardeners grow, and it would be quite in order to sow an early row now, selecting a position where the soil is good and docs not get too dry in summer. There is a surprising variation in this tasty vegetable, but, for quality, the select English varieties cannot be beaten. Chiswick Beauty, Manchester Table. Chantenay Red Cored, and James Intermediate are medium sized, tapering or cylindrical, and cut red right through. Main crop varieties may be sown as late as November, so it is wise to get in early with one of the above kinds for early use.
