World Air Tour.— On Saturday, Miss Margaret Dalton will begin a 35-day tour of the world by air. Miss Dalton, a booking clerk in the Christchurch branch of the Tourist Department, will leave Auckland on Tuesday for Honolulu, the first step in her tour. She will spend six days in England and two days in several other cities. She will also visit the United States and Europe. Victoria League.— About 90 members and guests were at a morning tea meeting of the Victoria League recently. Mrs R. B. Neill presided and Mr J. J. Saunders gave a talk on the Lebanon. New Club. —The newly-formed St. Andrew’s College Women’s Club held its first meeting recently at the home of Mr L. W. Stewart when Mrs Lionel Graham presided. The guest speaker, Mrs J. Royds, gave a demonstration on decorating with dried flowers and driftwood arrangements. Choir Uniforms.— The Royal Christchurch Musical Society held a meeting recently at which the women decided to revert to white dresses for their concerts The conductor (Mr E. R. FieldDodgson) said it was his wish that the choir adopt the uniform dress as non-uniformity detracted from the effect. First Meeting.— A committee' was formed in Northcote to raise funds to build a kindergarten in the area recently. Mrs N. L. Sampson, of the Christchurch Free Kindergarten Association, was the speaker. Plans for future development were discussed. The following officers were elected:—Chairman, Mr E. Casey; secretary. Mrs J. Kennedy: treasurer, Mr B. Kelly: delegate to kindergarten association, Mrs J. Hughes; committee, Messrs G Sutherland. J. Cameron, G. S Kennedy. Mesdames A. de Bruijn. R. Van Der Splinter. L. Cameron, J. Fitzgerald, M. Olley, G. Justice, N. Kelly, E. Evans, M. Forester, S. Inkster, J. Hughes, D Entwhistle, K. Hibberd, S. Green.
