BOOK WEEK OPENED
Exhibition In Showroom “On the shelves in this showroom are some of the greatest thinkers and they are at our fingertips,” said the Mayor (Mt G. Manning) when he officially opened the Children’s Book Week Exhibition in Amuri Motors showroom.
Mr Manning said that the exhibition was the result of cooperation among many persons in Christchurch. “They have the welfare of our children at heart,” he said.
In the last week Mr Manning said he had been impressed by the number of activities in the city for the welfare of children. “We are very conscious of our children in Christchurch and New Zealand,” he said. After Mr Manning opened the exhibition Miss Ngaio Marsh gave an address.
