“The 'Press’ Special Service TIMARU. August 21. Quality was very mixed in the large range of fat cattle offered at yesterday’s St. Andrew's sale. Keen interest was shown by local butchers and buyers from Christchurch ancj Oamaru. but. with the large number of on offer, only prime beasts held to recent high values. Mediumweight steers and heifers sold extra well. Few store sheep and cattle were offered. Values were:— Extra-heavy prime steers, £55 2s ’6d to £59 12s 6d: prime steers. £47 2s 6d to £52 12s 6d: medium steers, £42 2s 6d to £46 17s 6d; light steers. £34 2s 6d to £37 17s 6d. Prime heifers, £37 17s 6d to £42 2s 6d: medium heifers. £34 2s 6d to £36 17s 6d: light heifers, £2B 2s 6d to £3l 2s 6d. Prime cows. £3B 2s 6d to £42' 12s 6d; medium cows, £32 2s 6d to £34 2s 6d: light cows, £l9 2s 6d to £24 17s 6d.
