ADDINGTON TRIALS

Super Royal Works Well

Super Royal, Cabra and Blue Jay all recorded sound trials for their races tomorrow when worked at Addington yesterday morning. Most of the work was done about 10 feet out from the rails in perfect conditions. There was little work of a serious nature, most horses being given strong work, with a sprint over the last two or three furlongs. Aegean made the pace and was shaken up to shade Super Royal and Cabra at the end of tw’o miles in 4min 44 3-ssec, the last halfmile in Imin 5 2-ssec, and the last quarter in 31 l-ssec. Super Royal finished on in grand style and if the track remains firm, she may show to advantage in the National Handicap and the Farewell Handicap tomorrow. Cabra gave another smooth display and he will be a place prospect in the Winter Handicap. He looks improved as a result of his race last week and a sound workout on Tuesday. Blue Jay worked over two miles on her own in 4min 30 l-ssec, her last half-mile in Imin 3 l-ssec. and her last quarter in 30sec. She looked to be pacing well within herself all the way. Blue Jay was pulled up in her race last Saturday, but it will not surprise if she makes a bold showing in the Farewell Handicap. . Bon Ton Bon Ton gave Fervent Scott and a Young Bob three-year-old a start at the two furlongs and finished close to them at the end of one mile and a half in 3min 29sec, the last half-mile in Imin 7sec. and the last quarter in 30sec. Bon Ton continues to please and a win for him cannot be far off.

■ Gay Alabama and Sir Timothy were-together at the end of one mile and a half in 3min 29sec, the last half-mile in Imin 6sec, and the last quarter in 30sec. Both were running on strongly. Royal Scot was let off with an easy two miles. He trotted his last mile and a half about a 2min 20sec gait and had plenty in reserve all the way. He is certain to be a much improved horse as a result of liis race last week. Jaquine was given strong pace work and finished by sprinting her last four furlongs in Imin 7sec, the last two furlongs in 33 2-ssec. Jaquine has trained on well lately and may not be far from her peak. Wendy Charles paced the last mile and a quarter of one mile and a half in 2min 49 l-ssec. the last half-mile in Imin 6 l-ssec, and the last quarter in 33 l-ssec. She gave Guiliano and Ida Ray a start of about four seconds and beat them home. Battle Cry and Dalmation went away from the mile and a half post five seconds in front of Compeer. They beat that horse home by a length and a half after taking 3min 32 2-ssec, the last half-mile in Imin 8 4-ssec, and the final quarter in 32 3-ssec.
