Arrested And Fined In Three Hours Two seamen in the Melbourne Star converted a light motor-van at Lyttelton on Thursday, The Van was reported missing at 2 ; p.m.; the seamen were arrested at 3 p.m.; and they appeared in Court at 4 p.m. Robert Edward -Hewitt and Bruce Albert John Morton, seamen in the Melbourne Star, pleaded guilty to a charge of unlawfully converting to their own use a motor-van valued at £ 150. the property of N. G. Harlick. Mr Harlick, a fruiterer of Lyt-
telton, was delivering groceries to a ship, and had left his van , parked on ( the wharf. When he returned, he discovered the van was missing. Constables A. G. Adams and G. M. O’Connor noticed the van in Norwich quay, shortly after its loss had been reported to the police. , The two seamen were e arrested and taken to Christn church, facing the charge before e a special sitting of the Court. 2 The Magistrate, Mr A. P.
