TO ATTEMPT LAND SPEED RECORD.—Mr Donald Campbell hopes to make an attempt on the world land speed record, once held by his father, Sir Malcolm Campbell, in the summer of 1960. In this picture, Mr Campbell is shown with a model of the new Bluebird in the wind tunnel at the Imperial College, London, where he gave a press conference and demonstration on August 1. The hew Bluebird will be powered by a 5000 horse-power turbine engine.
