Mr J. K. McAlpine (Opposition, Selwyn) asked .the Minister of Finance (Mr Nordmeyer) whether, in the Government’s drive for economy, he would favourably consider adopting the suggestion contained in a question asked by Mr J. M. Mr F. L. A. Gotz (Opposition, Manukau) asked Mr Nordmeyer when it was proposed to introduce legislation to ensure that the net profit made by the trading banks from the issue of credit was returned to the State.
