BIG JEWEL ROBBERY

(Rec. 11.30 p.m.) BEVERLY HILLS (California), August 6. - Bandits yesterday smashed a jewellery store’s display window, tossed a smoke bomb inside the store and escaped with jewellery valued at more than 750,000 dollars. Police said four bandits with handkerchiefs over their faces took part in the daring daylight robbery. They escaped in a car. The owner of the store said the value of the stolen jewellery, which included diamond necklaces, rings, bracelets and ear clasps, might run to more than a million dollars.
