FIRST GOVERNOR OF NEW ZEALAND.— This portrait of Captain William Hobson, R.N., is a copy, made' in 1912, apparently from an original executed by Collins of Plymouth in early 1835, when Hobson was in his forty-second year. It was considered an excellent likeness. This copy hangs in the Central Library, Auckland.
