TWENTY-FIFTH PORTFOLIO
State Electricity Department (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 4. The Minister (Mr Nash) has announced his intention to establish a new portfolio, that of Minister of State Electricity. This will be the twenty-fifth portfolio. Portfolios are established by formal act of the Prime Ministei himself and are normally reserved for control of the major departments of State. Other departments are listed as being in charge ol a Minister. The decision is recognition of the great importance today of the generation of electricity in the national economy. The portfolio will be administered by the present Minister in charge of State Electricity (Mr Watt). The latter’s other portfolio is Minister of Works.
