The Wing Goes For The Line
This sequence of pictures shows B. McPhail, Canterbury’s right wing, making a determined effort to score against Taranaki on Wednesday. V. Sykes, running on the blind side, parses to McPhail, who evades a defender, eludes E. J. Keith’s tackle, hurdles J. L. Bayly’s tackle, and goes over with K. C. Briscoe tackling him. But the line umpire has his flag up and play is recalled.
