New Premises Opened
Commercial gardening was no . longer a Cinderella industry. Mid the chairman of the New Zealand Fruitgrowers’ Federation (Mr T. F. A. Archer) at the opening of the federation’s new store . in St. Asaph street yesterday; The market gardening and fruit growing industries in New Zea- . land would have to provide for the country's increasing population. The federation had assisted the growers in the past, and would do the same in the future, he said. Other speakers at the opening were Mr A. Osborne, general , manager of the federation; Mr J. Deyell, manager of the Canterbury branch; and Mr R. Mundy, a grower of Belfast. More than 100 guests were . shown over the new premises ■
which have service entrances from both Duke street and St Asaph street. Wallpaper with a •fruit” pattern covers the wall* in the main office.
